Sending photos and events

Signing in

Open the link from your organization. Put in your email address and it emails you a six-digit code; type the code and you are in. There is no password, so there is nothing to forget and nothing to reset.

If the link you were sent already names your group, you will not be asked which one. If it does not, there is a Group box — an organization admin can tell you the short name to put in it.

It keeps you signed in on that phone, so you only do this once.

Sending a photo

The member app on a phone, offering Submit a photo, Submit an event and My submissions. — Home, once you are signed in.

Tap Photo, choose pictures from your phone — up to ten at once — and add a caption if you want one. The caption goes with the whole batch.

You will see it upload. If it fails halfway, your pictures are still chosen, so you can try again without picking them all over.

Photos only — video is not accepted. If you try to send a video it will be refused, and that is not a fault.

iPhone pictures are fine exactly as your camera saves them. So are pictures the right way up that some apps turn sideways.

Sending an event

Tap Event. A title and a start are the only things required; a location, a description, an end time and a category are all optional.

For something that runs all day, or across several days, tick All day and give it a first and last day. The last day counts — an event that ends on Sunday shows on the screens on Sunday.

What happens next

A moderator reviews everything before it goes anywhere. Until then your photo sits in Activity as waiting.

Activity is the place to look. Nothing emails you when a photo is approved or turned down — not being emailed about each of the eight photos you sent from an event is deliberate. Open Activity and it will say which it was, and if a moderator wrote a reason for turning one down, the reason is there too.

Sending without an account

Scan the QR code on a poster where your group meets. That opens a page that sends straight to the moderation queue, with no account and nothing installed.

Depending on the poster it may ask for:

Nothing but your name — type it and send.
Your email first, confirmed with a six-digit code, so moderators can see who submitted it. On these, you do get an email when a moderator approves your photo.
An account an admin has approved — register once from the page, and an organization admin lets you in.

Changing or deleting your account

Settings is the gear in the top corner. Your name and phone number can be changed or cleared there at any time.

Delete account is on the same screen. It asks one question you have to answer: whether to delete the photos you have already sent, or leave the approved ones on the screens. Neither is preselected, because there is no right answer to assume. Deleting is permanent, and it signs you out everywhere.
